Austemper Design Systems will demonstrate its integrated functional safety tool suite for mission-critical automotive, industrial, medical and enterprise applications on Booth #2456 during the Design Automation Conference at Moscone West, San Francisco (Exhibition dates: June 25-27). Austemper is in the process of being acquired by Mentor.

The integrated suite is intended for use throughout the design cycle from concept to certification and has already been adopted by a number of leading IC and IP vendors.

Austemper’s tools analyze designs for various hardware metrics relevant to the specific application, indicate reasons for the metrics, identify opportunities for enhancing safety resilience and demonstrate the results via fault injection and simulation.

New capabilities in the Austemper KaleidoScope fault injection suite support analog design for full concurrent mixed-signal fault propagation. Users can integrate analog components into their fault campaign, eliminating the need for black boxes and recompiling designs for alternate target platforms.

Austemper and OneSpin Solutions

The company recently established a partnership with OneSpin Solutions that addresses functional safety in the chip development flow for automotive and other mission-critical applications.

With complementary development solutions, Austemper and OneSpin aim to foster adoption of a tool-supported methodology for functional safety applications, and provide a validated design and verification flow.

Austemper’s contribution includes the insertion of hardware safety mechanisms into appropriate chip designs. Once the Austemper run is complete, OneSpin’s products can be used to formally verify that the hardware safety logic is correct. They perform equivalence checking to ensure that the inserted safety logic does not affect regular functionality and use fault detection analysis to verify that safety mechanisms perform properly in the event of random errors.

A demo of the partnership methodology will be given during DAC on the OneSpin Solutions booth (#2611).

Verified

Austemper is co-hosting ‘Verified’, a celebration of the verification ecosystem, Monday, June 25, at the Golden Gate Tap Room from 8 p.m. until midnight. It will feature live music and dancing, vintage arcade and table games, snacks and drinks. Tickets for the invitation-only event are available from the company’s booth.
