X-Fab Silicon Foundries has expanded the range of processes that it will offer for prototyping through Europractice, five years on from an initial relationship that focused on the most popular processes at the mixed-signal foundry.

The additional processes that will be available for Europractice-managed MPW runs will include the company’s XH035 0.35µm high-voltage process and its XR013 0.13µm RF SOI process. It will also cover the use of software tools that the foundry uses for implementation and design checks. There are also plans to add support for some of the micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) processes in the future.

The engineering staff at X-Fab will provide hands-on training on the processes relating to the Europractice, to be conducted on a regular basis, either in Erfurt, Germany or at one of the consortium members’ sites. The first one has already taken place at Imec.
