The CDN Live series of Cadence Design Systems user conferences begins with its Silicon Valley edition at San Jose’s Doubletree Hotel on March 12-13.

The company will be discussing and previewing many of its existing tools and software over the two days, but the meat of these events always lies in the user presentations. This year, Cadence has rounded up contributions from many of its tier one customers, including Analog Devices, Broadcom, Freescale Semiconductor, Marvell Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.

In this initial preview, though, I’d like to pick out a presentation from Cisco Systems on Early Architecture Exploration using the Encounter Digital Implementation (EDI) suite. Based on the abstract, it looks like an update of a presentation Cisco’s Krishna Kumar Gundavarapu gave at last year’s ARM TechCon that was one of the best papers at that event.

You can find a grid of the current schedule here, including the early details for the Cisco presentation on Tuesday (March 12th) afternoon. Registration, now $199, can be found here.
