Navigating the Siemens EDA portfolio

Following its rebranding as Siemens EDA (formerly Mentor), the division has relaunched its website around four areas:

• IC Design, Verification & Manufacturing
• IC Packaging Design & Manufacturing
• Electronic System Design & Manufacturing
• EDA Services

Each section contains appropriate and detailed information about the various components in the  Siemens EDA technology portfolio, including the six major EDA acquisitions the company has made since purchasing Mentor. These include Avatar in the place and route space, and UltraSoc, which allows customers to manage the entire lifecycle of an IC.

All the various elements in Siemens EDA are being grouped around the concept of the digital twin as well as being used for more traditional design work,. A recent blog post by Joe Sawicki, Executive Vice President, IC EDA, goes into the background to this in more detail.
