GlobalFoundries extends Santa Clara GTC deadline
GlobalFoundries has extended the online registration deadline for its Silicon Valley technical conference on August 30th and published the program for the day-long event.
You now have until Wednesday (August 24th) to sign up for the Santa Clara Convention Center on the Global Technology Conference (GTC) site where you will find links to other stops in Taiwan, China and Japan.
The full agenda is here but let’s also take a look at a few highlights.
The morning session will see the first major public speech in the US from GlobalFoundries new CEO, Ajit Manocha, who was appointed in June.
Lunchtime offers a C-level executive panel, ‘Design Enablement Challenges and Future Solutions’, featuring ARM CEO Warren East, Cadence Design Systems CEO Lip-Bu Tan, Synopsys CEO Aart de Geus and Mentor Graphics vice president and general manager Robert Hum.
The afternoon then plunges into the technical sessions. The first half presents GlobalFoundries’ own offerings across three areas: Technology Solutions (e.g., platforms at process nodes down to 28nm and RFCMOS); Design Enablement (e.g., PDKs, IP and reference flows); and Manufacturing.
The second half turns things over to members of the foundry’s partner network including all the companies mentioned on the CEO panel as well as Mosis, Open-Silicon, Socle and Verisilicon.
